The Shape Love Takes

The shape love takes is not the one you expect.

it is not a circle

it’s a serpentine

a snake

the spiral that weaves itself through every moment

through life

through existence

Coming out of a universe which you have not

remembered

moving into another which you will never see

or remember seeing

Love is not what you expect

the shape is not an expectation.

not a desire.

it is a being.

a moment of appreciation,

a skittering of connection,

being seen, and seeing

Love is not what you expect

it is desire

tempered by time

desire adding in respect

desire

without clinging

Love is the immersion

in a moment

wanting to know more yet being willing

never to know

The shape of truth

patience

spaciousness love is

waiting for exactly the right moment when

you’re not sure when the right moment will be.
