Land That Moves
LTM began as a hand-bound book, featuring a red handmade paper cover that I’ve always felt best embodied the essence of the project. Later, I created a limited edition of 12 machine-bound volumes, but the original hand-bound version remains the truest representation of my vision: an exploration of the things we leave behind as humans building communities.
At its core, this project reflects a desire to recognize and reveal how we alter the world around us—sometimes in ways we perceive as too minor to notice, and other times in dramatic ways that we gradually stop seeing as they blend into the everyday. Examples of this visual adaptation include water towers or plastic wrappers encasing tree trunks. Over time, these additions to the landscape fade into the background, no longer catching our attention.
This work seeks to challenge and disrupt that habit of seeing—or rather, not seeing. It invites viewers to reconsider the often-overlooked elements of our environment and to reflect on their impact, both subtle and significant.
